Your student group is probably gearing up for the beginning of the school year. In just a couple weeks campus will be full of energy as we welcome in new students (potential new organization members) to the Hamline community. Here are some resources to help you out throughout the school year.
The Student Org Leader Workshop is an annual program developed to help student leaders start the year off right! Every student group is required to have at least two representatives attend the workshop. Individual students may only represent two organizations at this workshop.
The 2017 Student Organization Leader Workshop is scheduled for Sunday, September 10 from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The Organization Fair is an annual program that provides Hamline student groups with an opportunity to share their organization with the campus community. Each year over 600 Hamline students and many community members attend the Fair. It is the perfect way to attract new members and renew the interest of returning members. Space for groups participating in the Fair is limited. Student organizations must have a representative attend the Student Organization Leader workshop to participate in the Fair. The 2017 Organization Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm on Alumni Way.
Student organizations engaging in off-campus travel beyond 50 miles away from Hamline University (or outside of the Twin Cities Metro area) are required to register their travel with the Student Activities Office. If your organization is planning on traveling, set up a meeting with Lacey Squier to learn more about how to comply with the policy and how to become a Trip Coordinator.
Safety and Security manages the use of five 12-passenger Hamline vans. Registered student organizations are able to request the use of the van for off-campus events, field trips, and service projects. The van is rented out on a first come, first serve basis, and is available to the whole Hamline Community. It is important for student organization leaders to submit requests for vans as soon as possible, all five vans are accessible to all faculty, staff, and student organizations on campus.
